The Process

Spray tanning emits a fine, micronized mist of sunless tanning solution to allow for even application and absorption and results in gorgeous, natural-looking color. Unlike the damaging UV rays of tanning beds and the sun, your spray tan is 100% safe and causes no cellular damage to your skin. In fact, our solution is formulated with a rich array of antioxidants and botanical hydrators to instill a rich, caramel color that is incredibly natural and appropriate for any skin tone.

1-2 Days Before Your Appointment
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! The more dead skin you can remove from your body, the more evenly your tan will set. Use a glove, mitt, or scrub to buff your entire body from head to toe the days before and the morning of your treatment. Pay special attention to dry areas like your feet, hands, knees, elbows, and underarms. Avoid any oil-based scrubs, as these may affect the absorption of the sunless tanning solution.
Also, make sure to shave or wax at least 8 hours before your appointment. Discontinue the use of bar soap before your appointment, especially Dove and Dial soaps, as they will disrupt your skin's pH and result in an uneven tan. Schedule any facials, manicures, and pedicures at least the day before your spray tan.
The Day Of Your Spray Tan
Pack accordingly! Check the weather forecast for rain, as getting wet right after your spray tan can result in streaking. You will want to wear something dark and loose after your service—no leggings, skinny jeans, or tight waistbands. Tight clothing at this time WILL remove your color. We also encourage you to wear flip flops to your appointment. Take a shower before your service, but only rinse your skin. Do not apply any lotions or creams to your skin. They may act as barriers to your color developing evenly. During your session, you may dress to your comfort level. That includes having your color applied while completely nude, or wearing dark bikini bottoms, or a full bikini—your provider respects however modest or immodest you want to be!*
During your session, your provider will have you take a series of poses as she evenly distributes the tanning mist over your skin. The process takes less than 20 minutes to perform, but you'll enjoy your new "just back from the beach" color for up to 10 days.
*Men are required to wear dark boxers or undergarments. We have disposable spa garments available upon request.
The Results
Although you may see visible color immediately after your session, this is usually just the solution's color. Your real color will develop over the next 6 hours. You'll change into loose-fitting clothing and focus on keeping your skin dry for the next 6-8 hours. Avoid showering, swimming, and perspiring for at least eight hours after your spray tan. When you first shower, we advise you to simply rinse your skin or use an organic shower gel. You may notice some of the "guide color" rinse down the drain …don't worry! That is not your real tan fading. Pat skin dry when you step out of the shower and avoid rubbing with your towel.
To maintain your color, keep your skin hydrated and moisturized daily. Your provider will recommend South Seas products that can enhance your tan and extend its life. Avoid products with mineral oil, petroleum, strong acids, scrubs, and alcohols, as these ingredients will strip your skin more quickly of your tan.
Avoid hot showers and baths and any exfoliating for 5 to 7 days.
Enjoy your beautiful new color for 7 to 10 days! To maintain a flawless, even glow consistently, we recommend scheduling every 7 to 10 days.
